General Questions

Why are systems changing effective September 2?
Earlier this year, BAFT announced its separation from the American Bankers Association (ABA) in the Fall. Starting September 2, BAFT will operate as an independent entity with its own systems.

Will my BAFT.org login still work?
As part of the system changes,  you will need to create a new account with a 12-character password for improved account security. This will be required to:

  • Access member-only pages (e.g., directory, white papers)
  • Update your profile/account information and communication preferences
  • Register for conferences, workshops, webinars, and training

You’ll be prompted to update your password starting September 2.

Can I update my account information?
From August 13 – September 1, we request that you hold off on any account updates while we transition to our new systems. This includes changes to your contact details, topics of interest, and communication preferences. Updates resume September 2 at 12:00 PM ET. For urgent changes, please email [email protected].

Membership and Invoice Questions

Will my membership change because of the separation?
No. You’ll continue to receive the same benefits, advocacy, and programs you expect from BAFT.

Our company received our membership dues invoice for FY 2026. What should we do?

Follow the payment instructions on your membership dues invoice. For additional questions, contact [email protected] or Sarah Myers at [email protected].

I have an outstanding non-dues (sponsorship, training, or event registration) invoice. What do I need to do?

Please pay your invoice in full by August 31 so we can close our books before the transition. For questions:

Will there be different banking information for BAFT?

Yes. BAFT will send the new banking details to each member’s primary and secondary contacts, as well as dues, marketing, and training contacts. Third-party vendors will also be notified. Please look for an email from BAFT.

Events and Training Questions

Will the system change affect my access to the BAFT Education LMS?

  • Current certificate course students will continue using https://aba.csod.com for up to 1 year from their course registration date.
  • Students who completed their certificate course but have not downloaded their certificate of completion must download the certificate no later than August 31

Can I still register for events and training?
Yes, you can register for an event or training course until August 31. Online registration will be temporarily unavailable from 12:00 AM ET on September 1 to 12:00 PM ET on September 2. A new 12-character password will be required once the site’s full functionality is available.

Committees

Will committees, councils, and working groups be affected?

There is no change to the initiatives that each BAFT committee, council, or working group is working on due to the separation of BAFT from the ABA. However, the terms of reference (TOR) will be updated to ensure consistent governance of all councils and committees moving forward.

In addition, all committee, council, and working group calls will be conducted via MS Teams, with a dial-in line available for those who cannot join via video call.

Please contact your BAFT committee, council, or working group staff for any additional questions.
