BAFT - Best Practices AML KYC Working GroupThe BAFT Best Practices Working Group was formed at the request of the Global Trade Industry Council. Its mission is to develop trade industry best practices for AML and KYC with global application. The working group is actively engaged in reviewing and updating the 2008 IFSA Guidelines for Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering for Trade Services drawing on the FFIEC BSA AML Exam Manual, FATF Trade Based Money Laundering Red Flag Indicators, the Wolfsberg Trade Principles Risk indicators and the Financial Conduct Authority’s Thematic Review Banks Control of Financial Crime Risks in Trade Finance. The working group is first focused on traditional trade products. Membership consists of business and compliance representatives from BAFT member firms globally, both GTIC and non-GTIC members.  
BAFT - Central Letters of Credit SubcommitteeThe Commercial Letters of Credit Committee is an operations-oriented committee focused on issues that directly impact the daily processing environment related to commercial letters of credit. The Committee provides comments on all ICC rules, practices, and queries related to commercial letter of credit operations. Regional subcommittees address regional issues and provide input, case study material, speakers, and oversight to the regional letters of credit workshops. Nartker II, William/Fifth Third Bank 
BAFT - Commercial Letters of Credit CommitteeThe Commercial Letter of Credit Committee focuses on issues and responds to questions that directly impact the processing environment related to commercial letters of credit. The Committee provides comments on various ICC rules, practices and queries related to commercial letter of credit operations. The Commercial LC Committee also develops input, case study material, speakers and oversight to the LC workshops as well as applicable participation in conference sessions on Trade. Additionally, the Committee supervises and supports the on-going work of the regional sub-committees.

BAFT - Intraday Liquidity Working GroupA major work stream that has been requested by members of BAFT involves further advocacy and the development of sound practices in the area of intraday liquidity management tools. These tools were finalized by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) in April 2013. As of now, few jurisdictions have moved very far on implementation and the industry believes that closer coordination and understanding of how these tools function and apply will be vital for cross-border financial institutions. A working group has been formed in conjunction with the IIF.  
BAFT - Legal Advisory GroupThe Legal Advisory Group provides legal advice for the vetting and creating of products and ideas that affect the industry.
