Anand Bindumadhavan
Head of Services & Support, Asia-Pacific

Mr. Anand Bindumadhavan heads SWIFT’s services and support team in Asia Pacific and is based in Singapore. He is responsible for continuously enhancing customers’ experiences and driving new business development, through the management of three teams – Sales Services, Delivery Services and Support. Mr. Bindumadhavan is part of the Asia Pacific management team at SWIFT since 2013 and he is also a member of the board of SWIFT India.
Previously, he was SWIFT Asia Pacific’s Head of Products, where he managed a team of experts in the area of interface and integration products, standards and business intelligence, focusing on product evolution, pre-sales and marketing.
Since joining SWIFT in 2005 in Hong Kong, Mr. Bindumadhavan has worked on major projects, covering various areas of customer service, pre-sales and products activities. His areas of expertise include Trade Services, Worker’s Remittances, Funds, IT Architecture, Resilience, Messaging, FileAct, Integration, and Web Services.

Tod Burwell
President and CEO

Mr. Tod Burwell is the President & Chief Executive Officer of BAFT. Prior to being promoted to CEO, he served as the Senior Vice President of Trade Products with oversight of all trade-related initiatives including the Global Trade Industry Council, Trade Committees, and other strategic initiatives of the organization. Mr. Burwell has over 25 years of trade, supply chain and cash management experience as a banking practitioner, as well as serving as a consultant to global corporations and suppliers of strategically integrated trade solutions. Prior to joining BAFT, Mr. Burwell was a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase and held senior global management roles responsible for trade operations, launching the logistics business and managing global product sales for trade finance and logistics management.

Mr. Rajiv Desai is Senior Vice President at Pelican with primary focus on sales, support & account management. He has in-depth experience in several industries that he acquired over last 30 years. He has held several senior level positions with increasing responsibilities and successful results with revenue increase, client satisfaction and on time and within budget deliveries. He has worked with several global corporations and banks in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. He has broad experience in both Physical and Financial supply chain with primary focus in payments and compliance area. He is well versed in various payment messaging formats and technology. Additionally, he blends both technology and pragmatic business experience to address key areas of focus for banks and corporate.

Vivek Gupta
Global Head of Supply Chain Finance

Mr. Vivek Gupta is the Head of Trade for North Asia and Greater China for ANZ. Through roles as Global Head of Trade and Supply Chain and as Head of Trade, Asia, he built ANZ Group’s Trade Business into a market leading, well respected business in Asia Pacific recognized independently by Greenwich Survey and others. Mr. Gupta is based out of Hong Kong, is a member of the BAFT Asia Council and also chairs the BAFT Asia Trade Finance Committee. A seasoned international banker with experience in ANZ, HSBC and Rabobank, he has held senior business and people leadership roles across Asia (India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia) and Eastern Europe (Georgia and Kazakhstan). These diverse roles have been in Global Trade, Project Finance, Structured Trade Finance, Global Custody, in Relationship Banking and in Food & Agribusiness Industry.

Tony Lulu

Standard Chartered Bank

Mr. Tony Lulu has worked for Standard Chartered Bank since 1998. His roles have included managing Technology Support Service Operations which governed the global application support Incident, Change and Problem Management processes and heading the Global Monitoring Centre which had responsibility for infrastructure, application and service monitoring. He is currently responsible for the strategic programme to strengthen cyber security of the bank’s SWIFT based payments systems.

Sopnendu Mohanty
Chief FinTech Officer
Monetary Authority of Singapore

Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty is responsible for creating development strategies and regulatory policies around technology innovation to “better manage risks, enhance efficiency and strengthen competitiveness in the financial sector”.  Prior to joining MAS, he was with Citibank as their Global Head of the Consumer Lab Network and Programs, which included driving innovation programs and managing innovation labs across multiple geographies globally.
Mr. Mohanty has spent 20 years in the APAC region and held various roles in technology, finance, productivity, and business development.  He was Citibank’s APAC regional head of Branch operations along with heading the Consumer Innovation Lab in Singapore. He spent a significant time in Japan, where he was Citibank’s Retail Business Development head and also did leadership stints in various functions within operations and technology.  Globally, he played a significant subject matter expert role in driving Citibank’s global smart banking program, to transform bank’s physical network to digital first, smart & innovative, client centric and highly delightful customer engagement center. Mr. Mohanty has co-authored various patented work in area of retail distribution of financial sector. He was in the list of Fintech’s Most Powerful Dealmakers of 2016 by Institutional Investor.

Henry RoxasHenry Roxas
Associate Director, Partnerships and Strategy

Mr. Henry Roxas is the Trade Finance Lead at R3, responsible for defining R3’s trade finance strategy and building partnerships to promote the adoption of Corda. His background is in transaction banking technology, with seven years in cash management and trade. Prior to R3, he was a Delivery Manager at ANZ, responsible for delivering payments and liquidity management across Asia. Before ANZ, Mr. Roxas has held multiple roles in business analysis, development and service management within BAML and Credit Suisse.

TS Shankar
Global Head of Clearing & Liquidity Products

Mr. T S Shankar is Head of Clearing and Liquidity Products, Correspondent Banking at Standard Chartered Bank, based in Singapore.  He is primarily responsible for the design and building up of client centric Clearing and Liquidity Products globally, for Correspondent Banks. He was until recently the Regional Head of Sales for Southern Asia covering both South and South East Asia where he managed a sales team covering the Traditional Correspondent banking which focuses on Cash / Clearing and Trade in the transaction banking area.  Mr. Shankar joined the bank in 2009 from Bank of America where he worked in various roles covering Non Resident Indian business, Relationship Management and Transaction banking.  He moved to Singapore in 2005 from Mumbai. A consummate banker with over two decades of experience in the banking industry, he is active in various industry forums - including BAFT Asia Council where is he now Co- chair and is currently co-Chair of the Financial Services Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce Singapore.  He was a speaker at previous Asian Banker events, Euro finance events and at the SWIFT–SIBOS conference in Geneva in 2016.  He is also on the list of Leading Practitioners at Asian Banker.

Farooq Siddiqi

Mr. Farooq Siddiqi is the Global Head of Trade for Transaction Banking. Prior to this, he has had various roles as the Global Head of Product Management, Regional Head for ASEAN and, Regional Head for Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan. Mr. Siddiqi has over 20 years of Corporate Banking experience, having worked in Corporate Relationship Management, Product Management, Cash Management, Trade Finance and Supply Chain in India, Singapore and the U.A.E. Before his move to Dubai, he was the Global Head of Supply Chain Financing based in Singapore for 4 years, where he was involved in launching the Supply Chain Financing initiative globally with particular focus on the Bank’s key markets in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to Singapore, he was based in India doing a number of country roles relating to Relationship Management, Cash Management, Trade Finance and Supply Chain financing with ANZ Grindlays Bank and subsequently with Standard Chartered Bank in India.

Jon Watada

Mr. Jon Watada is a cyber expert with more than 30 years of experience leading multimillion-dollar projects for a wide range of clients. He covers the full spectrum of cybersecurity operations including strategy development, architecture migration, security policies, insider threat mitigation, and technology roadmaps. As a technology and cyber strategist, he aligns client missions with investments, capital improvements, research scientists, commercial vendors, incubator companies, and engineers. During his career, Mr. Watada has also successfully established and operated offices internationally and in the U.S. He has built multidisciplinary teams to support clients in the commercial, civil, defense, and intelligence markets.

Ross Wilkinson
Head of Global Accounts

Mr. Ross Wilkinson joined Bolero in May 2004 as Regional Director, Asia Pacific and has since contributed in the transition of the company to being a global leader in the handling of electronic trade finance documentation and automatic settlement across a wide variety of large Corporate and Financial Institutions. Having over 30 years in the technology and banking industry, he has held other senior executive positions including VP Asia Pacific for Compuware, a leader in software and services across industry sectors.
