Mr. John Ahearn, a Managing Director in Citi’s Transaction Services (CTS) business, is currently responsible for global supply chain and trade finance, including export and agency financing, as well as asset optimization. Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Ahearn was with ABN Amro for eight years and was responsible for Financial Institutions and Head of Sales globally for the trade business. He also had senior roles at Bank of New York and started his banking career at JP Morgan as a Management Trainee. Mr. Ahearn is also on the Board of Directors for BAFT and the Pacific Rim Bankers Association.

Mr. G. Stephen Alsace, LLB, JD, is Senior Director, Sanctions at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Toronto, and is responsible for global sanctions compliance for all the CIBC group of companies.  He articled and began practicing with Borden Ladner Gervais in 1997, then moved to the CIBC Legal Department from 2001-2013, where his responsibilities included AML and sanctions. In 2013, he was appointed to his current role in the CIBC AML Group. He has delivered presentations and papers on a number of different topics for the Canadian Bar Association, Federated Press and Investment Funds Institute of Canada. He has helped to organize an ad hoc committee on sanctions under the auspices of the Canadian Banker’s Association.

Mr. Daniel Bendersky has been obsessively focused on helping Financial Institutions rethink, streamline, and modernize their payments infrastructure since graduating with an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management in 2009. His achievements include authoring the functional specifications of D+H’s solution for Swish, a 2014 Celent Model Bank Award-winning Real Time Payments service, and managing D+H GPS’s Payments Business Analysis practice in the Americas. In his current role as D+H Global Payment Solutions’ Head of Presales for the Americas, he oversees Sales support for D+H’s Transaction Banking, Treasury, and Financial Messaging portfolio.

Ms. Kimberly Burdette is a Senior Vice President in Capital Markets for PNC Bank and the manager of its International Financial Institutions business.  She has responsibility for the relationship, credit and compliance management of international banks with which PNC engages.  PNC provides a wide range of trade, treasury management, balance sheet management and capital markets solutions and services to international financial institutions operating in the US and abroad.  Ms. Burdette has worked for PNC Bank and its predecessor, Pittsburgh National Bank, for 30 years. She is currently EVP of PNC’s edge act subsidiary, PNC Bank International.  She also serves as a director for BAFT.   


Patrick Burke

Mr. Patrick Burke joined HSBC in 1989 and has held a number of leadership positions in Strategy and Retail Banking in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Appointed to his current role in November, 2014, Mr. Burke is an Executive Director of HSBC’s principal subsidiaries in the United States, and is also a Group Managing Director of HSBC Holdings plc. Prior to his current role, Mr. Burke was President and CEO of HSBC Finance Corporation, where he is also Chairman of the Board. Mr. Burke serves on the boards of The Clearing House, and the Partnership for New York City; and he is a Member of the 30% Club in the United States.


Tod Burwell

Mr. Tod Burwell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of BAFT. Prior to being promoted to CEO, he served as the Senior Vice President of Trade Products with oversight of all trade-related initiatives including the Global Trade Industry Council, Trade Committees, and other strategic initiatives of the organization. Mr. Burwell has over 25 years of trade, supply chain and cash management experience as a banking practitioner, as well as serving as a consultant to global corporations and suppliers of strategically integrated trade solutions. Prior to joining BAFT, Mr. Burwell was a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase and held senior global management roles responsible for trade operations, launching the logistics business and managing global product sales for trade finance and logistics management.

Mr. John Collins is Vice President of International Policy for BAFT, overseeing the development and execution of its global policy and advocacy efforts.  Prior to BAFT, Mr. Collins served as Head of Policy for Coinbase, a leading blockchain company, where he led the company's discussions and relationships with governments worldwide. Prior to Coinbase, he served as Senior Professional Staff Member for the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs for Chairman Tom Carper (D-DE). Mr. Collins was the Chairman's primary advisor on emerging issues related to digital currencies and blockchain technology, leading the first Congressional hearing on the subject in the fall of 2013.


Kyran Culhane

He serves as DCDB Group’s Head of Correspondent Banking advising banks from Europe, North and South America. Mr. Culhane also acts as CIO of DC Ventures, a pre-seed venture capital firm focused on Online Media, E-Commerce and Fintech startups. Patrick Davies

Mr. Patrick Davies took up his post as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Washington in September 2013. A career diplomat, Mr. Davies has worked in various environments around the world, often in times of crisis or transition. He has played a pivotal role in British policy-making around the Arab Spring, Iran and its nuclear programme and the 2003 invasion of Iraq. In recognition of his outstanding record of service, in 2012 Her Majesty The Queen awarded him the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Mr. Davies joined the Foreign Office in 1993, initially serving as a policy officer covering Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. His first overseas posting was to the British Embassy in Rabat, Morocco, where he provided the British government with analysis and reporting on that country’s political situation and its struggles against drug trafficking and violent Islamism.

Adam B. Drucker

Mr. Adam Drucker entered on duty with the FBI in 1995. He was first assigned to the New York Field Office where he worked Financial Crimes cases. He was the Case Agent for two major undercover operations targeting mortgage fraud and credit card fraud. After the events of 9/11, he was selected to be the Financial Case Agent for the 9/11 investigative team. As such, he was responsible for tracing the sources and uses of the funds used in the attacks which led to the successful identification and subsequent capture of several Al-Qa’ida operatives and facilitators abroad. His work on that case was referenced throughout the 9/11 Commission report and culminated with his testimony before the 9/11 Commission.

She maintains regular dialogue with domestic and international regulatory bodies, as well as rating agencies, and is responsible for developing, marketing and executing innovative financing solutions for financial institutions globally. Mr. Michael Gapen is a Managing Director and Chief US Economist for Barclays. Based in New York, Mr. Gapen leads a team that is responsible for the firm’s outlook for the US economy and monetary and fiscal policy.  Prior to taking on this role, Mr. Gapen was a Senior US Economist and Asset Allocation Strategist for Barclays, where in addition to the US outlook Mr. Gapen took on additional responsibility for forming the firm’s asset allocation views and marketing them to clients. Mr. Gapen joined Barclays in 2010 from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, where he was a Section Chief responsible for monetary and financial market analysis. In that capacity, he assisted the Board and the FOMC in the formulation of monetary policy and the Federal Reserve’s response to the financial crisis.

Mr. Mark Garfield’s current role is Head of Global Financial Institutions at Zions Bancorporation responsible for foreign bank relationship development.  He joined Zions Bancorporation in 2005.  He has over 30 years of banking experience with 25 years in international banking management covering trade finance, trade services, foreign exchange, correspondent banking and product development.  Throughout his career he has worked closely with corporate and commercial entities in the Midwest and Western U.S. providing banking support for cross-border trade.  Mr. Garfield currently serves as a Director of BAFT and Chair of the Utah District Export Council.  He served on the DEC National Advisory Board and Board of the World Trade Center, Utah.  He holds a B.S from the University of Colorado. 




Mark Giuffre

Mr. Mark Giuffre is the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Chicago directing investigations of transnational crime groups and money laundering.  He has trained federal, state, local, foreign law enforcement, banking compliance professionals, businesses, the FBI Academy, and State Department. Mr. Giuffre has a Masters Degree from Michigan State University, is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), recognized in U.S. District Courts as an Expert Witness on Money Laundering and Narcotics Trafficking. Mr. Giuffre has been a Special Agent for 30 years assigned to Illinois, Indiana, Washington D.C. and Thailand.

Ms. Rita Gonzalez, seasoned international banker with extensive experience in Transactional Banking and Financial Institutions businesses has a full skill set ranging from business origination and relationship management to development of new strategic and tactical initiatives, product development, risk, compliance and deal structuring. Ms. Gonzalez was the Head of Global & Strategic Accounts with First Data, 2015-16, following an extensive career at HSBC where she had a number of leadership roles including Head of Global Transactional Banking Institutional Sales, Americas; Head of Financial Institutions, Americas; Group’s product development of Trade Solutions. Prior to HSBC, she was a Team Leader covering Financial Institutions at Standard Charter Bank. From 1998 to 2006, Mr. Martinez worked for economic research institute Coe-Rexecode, a French think tank, as Deputy Director. Mr. Martinez is a graduate from Ecole Polytechnique and holds a PhD in Economics (Paris School of Economics).

Mr. Vivanco joined BBVA in 2011 after five years at UBS Investment Bank, where he was head Latam fixed-income and FX strategist. Previously, he worked at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He holds a Master’s degree from Harvard University and a B.S. from Georgetown University, both in international economics.

Ms. Ruth Wandhöfer is highly regarded across the banking industry for her in-depth knowledge of the regulatory, market and competitive landscape.  She holds a number of influential positions, including the Chairmanship of the European banking industry’s Payments Regulatory Expert Group, membership of the Plenary of the European Payments Council (EPC), Chairmanship of the EPC’s Information Security Support Group, membership of the EU Commission’s Payment Systems Market Expert Group as well as COGEPS, the high level Euro Payments Strategy forum of the ECB to discuss payment policy issues with the market. In relation to BAFT-IFSA she is chairing the Eurozone WG or the Europe Council and looks forward to chair the forthcoming BAFT-IFSA global regulatory WG.

Mr. Chris Ward has served as executive vice president and head of product management for Treasury Management at PNC Bank since 2012. In this role, he manages, develops, and distributes PNC’s Treasury Management product line. He is responsible for revenue and profit growth, strategy development and execution, and building new products and services. In addition, he provides a critical role in client relationship management with high-value clients. Prior to joining PNC, Mr. Ward held several positions at Capital One, including head of product management innovation and integration for Treasury Management business. He developed and managed the objectives to support revenue growth, ensure customer retention and enhance customer satisfaction, and also provided leadership for commercial and Treasury Management integration activities.

Mr. David Wildner is the US Head of Anti-Money Laundering for BNY Mellon, responsible for all aspects of USD activity across the institution.  He is also the chairman of BNYM’s global Anti-Money Laundering Oversight Committee.  Previously, Mr. Wildner was the global head of AML Surveillance at BNY Mellon.  He has 10 years’ experience in the AML filed have also held roles at HSBC and Citi Private Bank.  Prior to working in the financial services area, Mr. Wildner spent 20 years in US Law enforcement conducting international money laundering and narcotics trafficking investigations.

Ms. Stephanie Wolf is managing director and head of North America Financial Institutions & Canada Sales for Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Transaction Services. In this role, she leads a team of treasury services sales professionals across the United States and Canada and comprised of four distinct sectors: banks and securities firms, alternative asset managers, insurance and specialty finance companies, and Canadian corporates.  Each team is accountable for the sale of global cash management products, trade finance, card solutions and balance and investment products, as well as maintaining and strengthening relationships with the firm’s most sophisticated financial services and Canadian clients. Prior to joining the firm in 2011, she spent 20 years at JPMorgan Chase & Co., most recently as sales executive of North American Financial Institutions and Federal Government Treasury Services Sales.

Ms. Sally Yearwood has been Executive Director of CCAA since 2011, with programs including financial services, energy security, disaster management, and trade policy. She has worked with the countries of the Caribbean and Central America for over 25 years, including 13 years in Haiti where she worked with USAID, the Caribbean Export Development Agency, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. She sits on the board of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and the Caribbean Tourism Organization, is on the Advisory Board of the Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum, and is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee. In 2016 she received an “International Woman of the Year” Award from the World Trade Center Miami.

Mr. Yiangou established a consultancy business in June 2016, with a significant percentage of time spent on supporting smaller organizations navigate the current global regulatory derisking environment. In November 2016, Mr. Yiangou joined CSB as a Director in November 2016.
