David Abshier

Mr. David Abshier has over 30 years of banking and executive management experience in a variety of functions, including: management and regulatory consulting/advisory, expert testimony, chief credit officer, risk assessment manager, corporate compliance manager, senior federal bank examiner, financial and credit analyst, and branch operations officer. Mr. Abshier provides consulting and advisory services to financial institutions throughout the United States and overseas, including services related to trade finance, payment systems, strategic planning, financial analysis, organizational assessments, director and management reviews, credit risk management, commercial and residential mortgage loan underwriting and securitization, loan servicing, litigation support, corporate governance and more.


Kimberly Burdette

Ms. Kimberly Burdette is a Senior Vice President in Capital Markets for PNC Bank, a member of the PNC Financial Services Group. She is the manager of its International Financial Institutions business. She has responsibility for the relationship, credit and compliance management of international banks with which PNC engages. PNC provides a wide range of trade, treasury management, balance sheet management and capital markets solutions and services to international financial institutions operating in the US and abroad. Ms. Burdette has worked for PNC Bank and its predecessor, Pittsburgh National Bank, for more than 31 years. Ms. Burdette is currently EVP of PNC’s edge act subsidiary, PNC Bank International. She also serves as Chair for the BAFT Board of Directors.


Vincent Brennan
Head of Group Payments
Bank of Ireland

Mr. Vincent Brennan is Head of Group Payments at Bank of Ireland where he is responsible for Cards and Payments Operations. He is responsible for developing and implementing Group Payments’ Strategy to support the Group’s three trading Divisions: Retail Ireland, BOIUK (including the Groups partnerships with the UK Post Office and with the AA) and Corporate & Treasury and he is responsible for PSD2 implementation and optimisation at the Bank. He manages key supplier relationships for the group relating to payment and card processing. His additional responsibilities include Group Business Continuity Management and Operational Continuity in the context of Resolution regulations.
He leads Bank of Ireland’s participation in the Irish, UK & European Payments Industry including BPFI (Ireland), UK Finance and the Euro Banking Association (EBA). Mr. Brennan is Deputy Chairman of the Euro Banking Association since 2014 and a Board member since 2007. He is Chairman of the EBA Open Banking Working Group (OBWG) which has published 7 papers for banking and payment professionals on the topics of Digital Identity, Alternative Payments, Cryptotechnology, APIs and Open Banking with its newest paper, Data Exploration opportunities in Corporate Banking, issuing at SIBOS 2017(available on www.abe-eba.eu).


Carolyn Burke
Head, Enterprise Payments

Ms. Carolyn Burke is the Head, Enterprise Payments, at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Ms. Burke is responsible for leading RBC’s enterprise payments strategy and council, covering the spectrum of wholesale to business to retail payments. She is dedicated to serving the payments ecosystem through her ongoing participation and leadership in the industry. An active speaker and panelist, Ms. Burke was named Women in Payments’ Distinguished Payments Professional 2016. She participated as a panelist at Sibos 2015 in Singapore, co-chaired at Payments Panorama 2016 on blockchain and was a panelist at the 2nd Annual Toronto FinTech Conference. She also co-chaired the 12th Annual Forum on Payments Compliance in Canada.


Tod Burwell
President and CEO

Mr. Tod Burwell is the President and Chief Executive Officer of BAFT. Prior to being promoted to CEO, he served as the Senior Vice President of Trade Products with oversight of all trade-related initiatives including the Global Trade Industry Council, Trade Committees, and other strategic initiatives of the organization. Mr. Burwell has over 25 years of trade, supply chain and cash management experience as a banking practitioner, as well as serving as a consultant to global corporations and suppliers of strategically integrated trade solutions. Prior to joining BAFT, Mr. Burwell was a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase and held senior global management roles responsible for trade operations, launching the logistics business and managing global product sales for trade finance and logistics management.


Dr. Rebecca Harding

Dr. Rebecca Harding is the Founder and CEO of Equant-Analytics, a big data analytics and supply company specialising in trade and trade finance. She is an independent economist and a professional speaker. She is an Advisor to the Council of the Society for Business Economists and until February 2017 the Chief Economist of the British Bankers Association. She has held senior roles in business, academic institutions internationally. These include founder and CEO of Delta Economics, Senior Fellow at London Business School, CEO of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor worldwide, Head of Corporate Research at Deloitte and Chief Economist at the Work Foundation. In her early career she was a Senior Lecturer at the Science Policy Research Unit, Sussex University and a Reader in Economics at the University of Brighton.


Walter J Mix III

Mr. Walter J. Mix III is a Managing Director and heads the Financial Services practice at Berkeley Research Group. He is a former commissioner of the California Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) and also previously served as a banking executive at Union Bank of California. He advises domestic and international bank clients on corporate governance, risk management, strategic planning, and financial advisory assignments. He has significant experience in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and capital planning. He joined BRG from LECG, LLC and before that The Secura Group; serving as managing director in both firms. He serves as chairman of the International Bankers Association of California.


Tracy Paradise

Ms. Tracy Paradise has been the Wolfsberg Group’s Executive Secretary since 2003 running the day to day management of the Group, setting its strategy, book of work, engagement and outreach initiatives. As part of her role, Ms. Paradise leads Wolfsberg’s engagement with supranational organisations such as the Financial Action Task Force, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the Financial Stability Board’s Coordination Group on Correspondent Banking, as well as other industry bodies such as BAFT and the IIF. Most recently, Ms. Paradise has been very focused on the revision of the Wolfsberg Group’s Due Diligence Questionnaire for Correspondent Banks and the publication of papers on PEPs and, coming soon, Country Risk.


Michael O'Loughlin

Mr. Michael O’Loughlin is an experienced strategic consultant with a proven track record in creating and delivering high-profile banking and finance programs in politically sensitive and complex environments. Based in New York, he is currently spearheading Token’s mission to deliver a global market-changing open banking platform. He has a deep understanding of the rapidly evolving global payments landscape. Prior to joining Token, Mr. O’Loughlin lead crypto technology activities at CGI where he worked with clients to deliver practical uses of such new technology - a payments navigator for start-ups and banks alike. He was also responsible for innovation and strategy behind the company’s suite of payment solutions. Additionally, he previously worked as a management consultant at KPMG London and as Chief of Staff at Citi Europe.


Conrad M. Sheehan

Mr. Conrad M. Sheehan leads Accenture North America Core Banking Payments and works directly with financial services clients on an array of strategic, operational and technical initiatives. His prior experience includes product and business unit executive positions at JPMorgan Chase &Co. in Treasury and Merchant Services. He was also Founder & CEO of mPayy, Inc. an electric payment acquired by NTT DATA and was Global Head of Product and Development for C-SAM, Inc., a digital wallet company acquired by Mastercard.


Damian Richardson
Head of Innovation and Strategic Initiatives, Payments

Mr. Damian Richardson is currently responsible for co-ordinating the development and implementation of the Bank’s payments strategy as well as driving the innovation agenda around payments, including the development of new propositions for consumers, SMEs, corporates and FIs. He is a career banker with 30 years of experience in marketing, product management & development as well as large programme delivery. Before joining RBS he worked for HSBC and Coutts.


Marcus Treacher

Mr. Marcus Treacher is Global Head of Strategic Accounts at Ripple. Marcus has over 30 years of experience in transaction banking and payment technology, including 12 years in global leadership roles at HSBC. He served as a member of the Global Board of SWIFT from 2010 to 2016. Prior to joining Ripple Marcus was HSBC’s Global Head of Payments Innovation, applying emerging fintech to solve customer challenges in digital payments, trade and supply chain. Prior to HSBC, he held leadership positions at Citigroup and Accenture. Marcus also works with industry communities, organizations and governments to help shape new payment practices. He chaired SWIFT’s global advisory body for corporates from 2010 to 2016.


Philippe Vexlard

Mr. Philippe Vexlard is the Head of Correspondent Banking for EMEA within BNP Paribas CIB pole. Based in Paris, he oversees cash and trade transactions for banks across the region. He joined BNP Paribas Corporate Coverage and Financial Institutions division in 1991 after several years at Credit Lyonnais. Prior to assuming his current role, Mr. Vexlard was responsible for Global Trade Solutions in Europe and the Middle East.
