A New Way to Network!

Welcome to BAFT CONNECT, a virtual transaction-banking club for networking, shared problem solving, and content exchange on a drop-in basis. The main goal is to provide connectivity for the transaction banking community in the absence of, and as a complement to, in-person meetings.

BAFT CONNECT is offered as an individual membership subscription open to BAFT members and non-members. With a yearly subscription, subscribers will be able to:

  • Access and attend two sessions per month during a 12-month subscription period (24 sessions in total)
  • Network via video and message chat with other subscribers and guests similar to an in-person networking reception
  • Invite guests for free to join them at any of the sessions throughout the year
  • Join special topic table discussions planned for each session
  • Hear subject matter experts share their thoughts on timely topics
  • Plan bilateral meetings in a quiet private space to complement in-person meetings
  • Meet others involved in Transaction Banking from different regions, areas of expertise, and seniority levels
  • Participate in various activities planned during the year

FAQ's

What is BAFT CONNECT?

BAFT CONNECT is a virtual transaction-banking club for networking, shared problem solving, and content exchange on a drop-in basis. The main goal is to provide connectivity for the transaction banking community in the absence of in-person meetings. The platform provides for virtual video conferencing in the same spirit of a networking reception at a conference.

How do you join BAFT CONNECT?

Simply subscribe to BAFT CONNECT. Go to the Register tab for more information.

· Open to BAFT members and non-members for a yearly individual subscription fee.

· BAFT members receive a special member subscription rate and can invite guests to the club for free to an individual session.

When is BAFT CONNECT happening?

BAFT CONNECT will be available every 3rd Wednesday of each month throughout the year, and additionally on an ad hoc basis. The ad hoc dates will allow for community engagement on “hot topics” of developing issues. Dates may change due to holidays. Each monthly session will be 2 hours long, offered two different times to accommodate different time zones:

  • Session 1: 07:00 EDT / 12:00 BST / 13:00 CEST / 15:00 GST/ 19:00 SGT
  • Session 2: 12:00 EDT / 17:00 BST / 18:00 CEST / 20:00 GST

What is the yearly BAFT CONNECT subscription fee?

The yearly BAFT CONNECT subscription fee for BAFT members is $250 per person. The non-member yearly BAFT CONNECT subscription fee is $350 per person.

Who can join BAFT CONNECT?

BAFT CONNECT is open to BAFT members and non-members. We welcome all international transaction banking leaders and practitioners, including those in international trade finance, payments, supply chain finance, letters of credit, liquidity, and compliance.

What sponsorship opportunities are there for BAFT CONNECT?

Sponsoring a session is a great way to get your brand in front of your target audience of international transaction banking leaders and practitioners, including those in international trade finance, payments, supply chain finance, letters of credit, liquidity, and compliance. How do you access BAFT CONNECT?

Subscribers and their guests join a networking platform each month. Platform link and reminder emails will be sent prior to each session only to subscribers and their guests.

Once online, session attendees can mingle with other attendees by joining a table. Each attendee is free to move from one table to the next, and from one floor to the other. Attendees will be able to visually check the room ahead of time on who is sitting in each table before joining the table.

What should I expect as part of BAFT CONNECT?

· Access to up to 24 scheduled BAFT CONNECT sessions within a 12-month subscription cycle. Two sessions are offered each month.

· Ability to network via video and message chat with other subscribers and guest similar to an in-person networking reception

· Special topic tables planned each session

· Subject matter experts share their thoughts on short but timely topics

· Plan bilateral meetings in a quiet private space to complement in-person meet-ups

· Meet others involved in Transaction Banking from different regions, areas of expertise, and seniority levels

What software or platform is this being hosted on?

BAFT CONNECT is powered by Remo and will be accessible via desktop, mobile or tablet. Once you register with BAFT, we will load your email into the platform. You will receive an email from Remo with instructions to click on the session URL to verify yourself. You may confirm your attendance for the session prior to each session start date by clicking the “Save Me a Spot” in the verification page.

How will I login in during the session?

To join the session, simply click on the session URL from your desktop or mobile device or tablet. Click on “Save Me a Spot” (if the session has not already started), then click on “Join the Event”. Make sure to type the email address you used to register for BAFT CONNECT. You might need to create a Remo account to authenticate yourself.

Do I need to turn on my camera and microphone?

For an optimized experience, please turn on your camera and microphone. You can choose to allow your computer to turn on the camera and microphone for the session. On the pop-up, click Allow to give the platform access to your camera and microphone. Your camera, microphone, and speaker are all set to your default settings. If you are using something different, you can change and test it at https://geartest.remo.co.

What if I am having technical issues?

You can click on the “Having trouble” button in the check camera and microphone area, or click on the “Need help?” button on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Remo technical support will assist you.

What if my institution or company doesn’t allow me to access the platform?

We encourage you to use your personal device (computer, tablet or phone) and or your personal email account if you have company restrictions. If you are using an email different from what you used to register for BAFT CONNECT, please email [email protected] so we can upload your personal email to the platform.

What are the system requirements of the virtual platform?

Please test ahead of time to ensure you can join the virtual session at https://geartest.remo.co. The Remo platform works on Windows 10 and Mac with the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. If using a mobile device, IOS 12.4.1 and Android 7.0 or higher work best.

Will I be able to speak with the other attendees? Will other attendees be able to see me?

Yes! BAFT CONNECT is all about meeting and networking with others. You will be able to move from one table to another, and move from one from to the next by double clicking on a table (or floor) that you wish to join. Once you join a table, all participants at that table will be able to see and speak to each other. You can also click on an attendee’s avatar to view their profile and to message them. Do I need to download anything?

No, there is nothing to download. You simply join the BAFT CONNECT session by clicking on the session URL link in the email and sign in using the email you used to register for BAFT CONNECT. You might need to create a Remo account to authenticate yourself.

Will you email me information about logging in and who can help me if I have issues?

BAFT CONNECT is powered by Remo. Once you register with BAFT, we will load your email into the platform.
