Overview

A New Way to Connect

Welcome to BAFT CONNECT, a virtual networking and interactive forum. The main goal is to provide connectivity for the global transaction banking community virtually, yet allow attendees to engage with speakers and fellow attendees similar to an in-person event.

BAFT CONNECT is open to BAFT members and non-members alike. Attendees will be able to:

  • Network via video and message chat with fellow attendees similar to an in-person networking reception
  • Go live ‘on stage’ with speakers to ask questions or comment on the session
  • Join special roundtable discussions planned on topics that are on everyone’s minds
  • Hear subject matter experts share their thoughts on timely topics
  • Plan bilateral meetings in a quiet private space to complement in-person meetings
  • Meet others involved in transaction banking from different regions, areas of expertise, and seniority levels

Networking and Roundtables via BAFT CONNECT

Experience as close to in-person networking in a virtual setting with BAFT CONNECT. Join roundtable discussions on trending hot industry topics hosted by senior bank executives and subject matter experts. Attendees are also welcome to set up private meetings with other attendees.

The system will automatically run a system check to test your internet speed, firewall, operating system and browser compatibility. Once that is completed, please test your audio and video by clicking the Test Webcam, then the Test Microphone and Test Speakers. You need to speak to test your microphone and click Play Sound Test to check your speakers.

How do you join BAFT CONNECT?

Go to the Register tab to register for a complimentary session.

  1. Log in to your BAFT account
  2. If you do not have a BAFT account, create one here.
  3. Once you sign into your BAFT account, register here for that month’s BAFT CONNECT sessions.

Who can join BAFT CONNECT?

BAFT CONNECT is open to BAFT members and non-members. We welcome all international transaction banking leaders and practitioners, including those in international trade finance, payments, supply chain finance, letters of credit, liquidity, and compliance.

How do you access BAFT CONNECT?

Attendees will receive a link to the platform prior to each session. Reminder emails will also be sent prior to each session only to registered attendees.

Once online, session attendees can mingle with other attendees by joining a table. Each attendee is free to move from one table to the next, and from one floor to the other. Attendees will be able to visually check the room ahead of time on who is sitting in each table before joining the table.

What should I expect as part of BAFT CONNECT?

What software or platform is this being hosted on?

BAFT CONNECT is powered by Remo and will be accessible via desktop, mobile or tablet. Once you register with BAFT, we will load your email into the platform. You will receive an email from Remo with instructions to click on the session URL to verify yourself. You may confirm your attendance for the session prior to each session start date by clicking the “Save Me a Spot” in the verification page.

How will I login in during the session?

To join the session, simply click on the session URL from your desktop or mobile device. Click on “Save Me a Spot” (if the session has not already started), then click on “Join the Event”. Make sure to type the email address you used to register for BAFT CONNECT. You might need to create a Remo account to authenticate yourself.

Do I need to turn on my camera and microphone?

For an optimized experience, please turn on your camera and microphone. You can choose to allow your computer to turn on the camera and microphone for the session. On the pop-up, click Allow to give the platform access to your camera and microphone. Your camera, microphone, and speaker are all set to your default settings. If you are using something different, you can change and test it at https://geartest.remo.co.

What if I am having technical issues?

You can click on the “Having trouble” button in the check camera and microphone area, or click on the “Need help?” button on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Remo technical support will assist you. You may also email [email protected] for assistance.

What if my institution or company doesn’t allow me to access the platform?

We encourage you to use your personal device (computer or mobile device) and/or or your personal email account if you have company restrictions. If you are using an email different from what you used to register for BAFT CONNECT, please email [email protected] so we can upload your personal email to the platform.

What are the system requirements of the virtual platform?

Please test ahead of time to ensure you can join the virtual session at https://geartest.remo.co. The Remo platform works on Windows 10 and Mac with the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. If using a mobile device, IOS 12.4.1 and Android 7.0 or higher work best.

Will I be able to speak with the other attendees and speakers? Will other attendees be able to see me?

Yes! BAFT CONNECT is all about meeting and networking with others. You will be able to move from one table to another and move from one to the next by double clicking on a table (or floor) that you wish to join. Once you join a table, all participants at that table will be able to see and speak to each other. You can also click on an attendee’s avatar to view their profile and to message them. In addition, you can join speakers live “on stage” during a presentation, if the speakers allow you to join them.

Do I need to download anything?

No, there is nothing to download. You simply join the BAFT CONNECT session by clicking on the session URL link in the email and sign in using the email you used to register for BAFT CONNECT. You might need to create a Remo account to authenticate yourself.

Will you email me information about logging in and who can help me if I have issues?
