The threats and opportunities of fintechs, big techs and digital challengers seem to be a thing of the past as banks see them more now as partners rather than direct competitors. The new wave discussed today, which reports indicate will have an undeniably huge impact to the industry, are Banking as a Service (BaaS) and embedded finance. If reports are true, these cannot simply be ignored, and will fundamentally change the way financial services are sold and consumed in the future. In this session, we will take you on a journey providing an overview of BaaS, embedded finance and share the value of partnerships.

The necessity to exchange rich data in B2B payments to speed up AR/AP reconciliation and therefore the supply chain has led to creation of services outside payment rails. With the introduction of ISO 20022 in many domestic payments infrastructures as well as SWIFT, the promise of streamlining the payments and data process is upon us, or is it? Have the different industry verticals aligned their data requirements to fit into the ISO 20022 schema? Are Corporate ERP systems ready, or do they even need to be? Will there be true interoperability between the different domestic payments systems to allow full data to flow end-to-end? Will the industry be able to shut down all the peripheral services to transmit rich data? This panel will discuss the readiness of ISO 20022 and its impending impact.
